Heyward House Staff

Charlotte Heyward-Wesley
Executive Director

The Heyward House began as a dream that Charlotte shared with her son, Cameron. Born and raised in the East End of Pittsburgh, she’s always been passionate about helping those in need, whether in her professional or personal pursuits.
The Heyward House has given her the ability to fulfill that passion on a scale that she hopes will leave a lasting impact on the communities and the city that she loves.
“When Cam and I started talking about forming The Heyward House, we dreamt of the ways that we could make a difference. What followed exceeded those hopes – from working with kids in the child welfare system, to launching Craig’s Closet, to supporting backpack feeding programs for local kids in need. What excites me the most is that our work is just starting. This is just our first chapter, and I can’t wait to see where our story takes us next.”

Born and raised in the city of Pittsburgh, Eileen is passionate about creating a positive impact for our next generation. She has extensive experience in community outreach, having been a Corporate & Community Engagement Manager at a local nonprofit geared toward youth programming and child development.
“Working for The Heyward House allows me to align my beliefs with an organization that has a mission to impact youth through multiple nonprofit partnerships and school districts. When you show a young person they are valued, it can change their outlook and give them more energy and hope! “

“The families and kids I’ve met through The Heyward House have been an inspiration. Being even a small part of their story – whether is helping them find clothes that make them feel like a million dollars or helping schools get the food they need to send home with students over the weekend – is an honor.”
