Covid Response

COVID-19 and The Heyward House

These are unprecedented times.COVID-19 has impacted people’s health, jobs, and sense of security seemingly overnight.

Despite the uncertainty that’s swirling around many of us right now, there is one thing that has come through loud and clear: Just how strong we can be if we come together, support our neighbors, and do what we can to help those who are in need.

Families, neighbors, companies, and organizations have all stepped up to the plate, and we at The Heyward House are inspired by the big and small acts of generosity that are happening throughout our communities. We are honored to be a part of those efforts in any way possible.

If you are able, we encourage you to join our team–we will get through this difficult time together.

Cam Donates to Latrobe Police Force

Cam was among a group of supporters who donated food to the Latrobe Police Force to keep them fed and well-fueled during the COVID-19 outbreak. Twelve meals of fish, pierogies, and haluski were delivered from Bubba’s in Greensburg.

Western Pennsylvania Diaper Bank

Local families impacted by the economic fallout of COVID-19 are in desperate need of a critical, basic supply: Diapers. The Western PA Diaper Bank is holding an emergency fund drive, and we were honored to contribute. They distributed over 24,000 diapers last week alone.

Ronald McDonald House

The Heyward House will deliver meals prepared and generously donated by Chef Ryan Peters, Pasatio at Iron Born Pizza, to the families at Ronald McDonald House. The families at Ronald McDonald House already shoulder the stress of a child who is being treated for a serious medical condition. We hope that a home-cooked meal is a reminder that we are thinking of them in this doubly stressful time.

Urban Impact and North Side Youth

We didn’t want kids who are experiencing tremendous upheaval right now to lose the joy that this holiday weekend could bring, so we partnered with the Urban Impact Foundation and the Leadership League to deliver Easter baskets and community meals to children and families on the North Side. “By delivering these baskets, especially to the children and youth of the North Side, this is going to be tremendous encouragement… Helping them know they’re not forgotten,” said Paster Ed Glover, Urban Impact Founder.

We love you Pittsburgh.

And we’re here to help during this time of crisis.
